Fantasy Football Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups

Entering Week 11 of the 2018 NFL season, this week’s batch of guys you should target on the waiver wire once again focuses on the theme of “injuries” – guys who are getting opportunity because of injured starters, or guys who are coming back from injuries of their own and starting to get more and more work.

Here are four guys who fit that criteria:

Josh Reynolds

Josh Reynolds, Wide Receiver, Los Angeles Rams – Josh Reynolds was already getting some play in deeper 16-to-20 team leagues, but if he’s available in your fantasy league, he’s definitely worth an add given the season-ending injury to fellow wide receiver Cooper Kupp. The second-year man out of Texas A&M showed some flashes through the month of October, and he should have a seamless transition into the slot position previously occupied by Kupp. Interestingly, Reynolds could also help replace some of the team-high six touchdowns caught by Kupp, because of the former’s ability to go up and catch contested passes.

Theo RiddickTheo Riddick, Running Back, Detroit Lions — If you play in a league that gives any points (half or full) for receptions, then go out and grab running back Theo Riddick if he’s available. You’re likely to find him on your league’s waiver wire, considering he was injured for much of the season (leading a lot of fantasy football players to release him). Riddick was already a solid PPR option in previous years, and he’s already started to see his share of targets from quarterback Matt Stafford upon his return. More significantly, the Lions are starting to utilize Riddick lined up in the slot, which used to be occupied by wide receiver Golden Tate. That means there could be even more targets going in Riddick’s direction for the remainder of the season.

Jonnu SmithJonnu Smith, Tight End, Tennessee Titans – If you’re in desperate need of tight end depth, you might want to take a flier on Jonnu Smith of the Tennessee Titans. Dead silent for the first month of the season, we’ve been hearing more and more of the second-year tight end since the start of October. Over the last two games, Smith has seen at least a couple of targets going in his direction; notably, those targets have come in the red zone, to boot. Smith has a touchdown catch in each of the past two games. Quarterback Marcus Mariota has always had a proclivity to throw it to his tight end, and Smith has the athleticism to develop into a matchup problem for opposing defenses.

Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Baltimore Ravens – This one is more for individuals who play in keeper or dynasty-style leagues. Assuming quarterback Joe Flacco’s hip continues to bother him in a way that the Baltimore Ravens hold him out, Jackson is on track to make his first NFL start on Sunday. The bigger piece to this puzzle is that the Ravens are almost certainly going to part ways with Flacco sooner rather than later, and hand the reigns over to Jackson. Because of Jackson’s ability to create touchdowns with his arm as well as his feet, he has a lot of fantasy upside to tap into in the future.
